There is no grander place than Pittsburghs own Hartwood Acres. It’s one of my favorites because it always beautiful light. We had the mansion as our backdrop for Mia’s first birthday smash cake photo shoot! First birthday shoots are the best <3
You all are going to LOVE today’s Pittsburgh Engagement Session! Emily and Andy really brought their A game which makes me even more pumped for their wedding this year! Shout out to Andy for a few of his ideas during the shoot too!
We started off at a Pittsburgh Engagement Session favorite spot – Hartwood Acres. Then we circled back to their nearby home for a few night shots! I cant tell you guys how much fun I had!!! Please enjoy some highlights from their session.
Ahh that beautiful end of the day light. Schedule your sessions during the “golden hour” and you will NOT be disappointed. Todays shoot is 90% Film – Big thanks to Indie Film Lab for the processing and scanning.

I had the privilege of photographing Kim & Matt a few weeks ago. I love utilizing the finest places that Pittsburgh has to offer. Hartwood Acres is among my favorite of spots for a Pittsburgh Engagement Session besides the actual city of course. We had a great time. Or I did and they just went along with me. Ha. We TRIED to get the deer in one of the images but they were to fast for me. No matter though – deer or not, we got some fabulous images. I think you will all agree.
Please enjoy a collection of my favorites from their session. Id love to hear which image is your favorite in the comments! Anyway, looking forward to the wedding next year lovebirds! Ill be seeing you sooner than you realize!

I had such a blast this year photographing the upcoming seniors. It’s so fun to get to talk to the upcoming HS seniors and see what they are all about.
I was so excited to photograph Miste and Joe’s wedding! 9.10.11 was probably the most requested date of the year, and I got tons of inquiry’s for the date, but Miste had me booked two years ago when I met with her and her sister Amanda. (and Amanda’s husband Mike) I had photographed Amanda and Mikey the year before and there wedding was an absolute blast, so I was excited for Miste and Joe too!
Our day was great, the ceremony was beautiful and the weather was perfect! (usually questionable in the burgh!!) Not to mention that the bridal party is going to be the month of February for the Make-A-Wish foundation yearly calendar.
It’s such a great story that I have been bursting to tell it! We were going to Hartwood Acres Mansion to take the portraits after the ceremony because it just has so much to offer and was only minutes from the reception… Well, when we got there we noticed a bunch of golden retriever puppies jumping around and a very well trained Golden adult sitting quietly next to the puppies. Miste went straight over to them and the women in charge of the puppies told her that everyone could hold them for pictures. So 13 adorable fluff balls of joy made it into the photo shoot and it honestly could not have gotten any cuter! After talking to the woman in charge we came to find out that they were there to shoot the calendar photographs for the Make-A-Wish foundation and she asked if Blue could be in a group shot with the bridal party for the month February! Uhh YES! Blue is the 2010 # 1 Golden Retriever in the world. It was a perfect addition to the wedding day. Take a look at the link! http://www.bluegivesback.org/Home.html
Anyway here are a few highlights from the day and be sure to checkout their album on facebook as well!
