There is no grander place than Pittsburghs own Hartwood Acres. It’s one of my favorites because it always beautiful light. We had the mansion as our backdrop for Mia’s first birthday smash cake photo shoot! First birthday shoots are the best <3
Newborn Hospital Photos – Aka “Fresh 48”
Being a photographer, I think its important to capture all of these life changing moments on film. It’s great to have something to look back on and remember. It’s great to have photos with loved ones long after they have gone. Moments are fleeting, but if preserved in a photo – you can call up the memories at a moments notice.
Of course with our baby girl I want all of the moments captured… While she and I had some hangout time in our hospital room I decided to bust out my medium format film camera and take some portraits of her first full day of life!
^^ This is huggies. He is my bear. Ive had him since I was one! He’s come to the hospital with me every time I have had to stay overnight. Huggies and Mia are now besties. Look at those frog legs <3 – She was breech so they stayed up like that for a while. My baby girl sure is not lacking for hair! Yes, I dressed her as a mermaid. No, I am not ashamed. haha. The outfit is from Etsy if anyone was wondering!!

Mia’s Birth Story – West Penn Hospital
I’m not going to say a ton about this because its self explanatory but, having the opportunity to get birth story photos done is absolutely AMAZING. The photos I am about to share were taken by my husband and myself, but we also had a photographer (my best buddy Abby from the Vintage Button Photography) capturing these precious moments on film as well. Her images tell the complete story, where ours that you are about to see is just a small sample because – well – we were busy having a child and all… ANYWAY. I am loving birth story photos and fresh 48 (where we do in hospital lifestyle sessions!!) so if you’re expecting – get in touch! Here is a few images from our Mia’s Birth Story at West Penn Hospital!
We are extremely proud parents at this moment. I love this picture so very much! ^^^I love Ben checking out our baby girl. Shes so tiny compared to his hand!

So as many of you know, my husband and I are expecting a little girl very soon. We are SO excited. The end of this pregnancy has been a bit rough on us and I haven’t been able to really do much.. I even had to cancel my maternity session… SO the other day my fabulous second shooter came over and took pictures of us. In five minutes because that’s really all I could handle. I am so glad to be a photographer and have the ability to capture these moments for others, so I am glad to have a few for our personal albums. I love lifestyle maternity photos and am excited to show these to you all.
I also wanted to share a few of images of her nursery! Enjoy <3
